Water

Water: "Chlorination is, and will be, the most common technique to disinfect drinking water worldwide. In Finland about 2 million people drink chlorinated drinking water. Unfortunately, several types of chlorinated impurities are formed in water during the chlorination process from organic matter.

Epidemiological evidence, also from Finland, indicates that the long-term use of chlorinated drinking water is associated with cancer. The carcinogenic by-products in water are not known. However, it would be important to identify them for both health risk assessment and development of better water purification and disinfection processes."
