Cleanergy produces and markets CHP (combined heat and power) engines based on Stirling technology for biogas, landfill gas and natural gas use.

• The company Cleanenergy has offices in Sweden and China

 As an example, the gas powered version of Cleanergy’s Stirling engine has accumulated over two million operating hours from over 100 sites, making Cleanergy the premiere Stirling engine provider in the world.

By using Stirling technology for power production from combustion of gas, the Cleanergy CHP engine enables separation of the moving parts, such as the pistons, piston seals, cylinders and corresponding oil lubrication from contaminants in the fuel gas and the air.

• Production: Cleanergy is well equipped to meet the increasing demand for commercially proven Stirling engines with the new engine assembly plant, inaugurated in December 2010.

Biogas is a renewable fuel being produced from organic substrate materials such as manure, food waste and plant residues in a process called anaerobic digestion. Raw biogas typically consists of 50-70 % methane, 30-50% carbon dioxide and may have small levels of pollutants such as hydrogen sulphide, moisture and siloxanes.

CHP går ut på att producera elektricitet och få varmvatten som en biprodukt. På så vis kan man uppnå en energieffektivitet på över 90%.

Jag har gjort ett svep efter CHP-lösningar och det verkar inte som att mycket hänt senaste året, även om många verkar eniga om att det är framtidens melodi för landsbygden.

• WhisperGen är ett nyzeeländskt företag som samarbetar med spanska EHE och har nyligen börjat leverera en gas- och en diesel-driven CHP-lösning som i Sverige saluförs av StoreBro.
• Det finns äldre trådar här som handlar om Disenco, som också dom hade en gasdriven lösning. Deras hemsida verkar dock varit inaktiv sedan 2009.
