I visited the Finnish forestry machine company PONSSE a year ago. Never had time to listen or edit the podcasts I made. Ponsse is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of forest machines for the cut-to-length method, and its customer-oriented operations are still guided by the wishes and needs of forest machine entrepreneurs.

Ponsse was established in 1970 to meet forest machine entrepreneur Einari Vidgrén’s own demands: the machines built by others could not withstand the heavy-duty use, so he had to build his own. Thus the first Ponsse was created, and soon everyone wanted the highly durable forest machine. To meet this growing demand for strong machines, Ponsse Plc was also soon established.

The FinnMETKO 2012 trade fair is held in Jämsä on August 30th - September 1st 2012. I had the opportunity to participate in this fair, but I’m too busy with other things until the end of August.

“This is one of the biggest heavy equipment trade fair in Europe has way over 30 thousand visitors during three days. The heavy machinery fair is concentrate on three domains: earthworks, forest and transport sections. The fair grounds are located close to the Jämsä College in Jämsänkoski. The fair is open from Thursday to Saturday 9.00 am - 17.00 pm. More information: http://eng.finnmetko.fi/.

“PONSSE forest machines, information systems and services are made for the best professionals in the field of CTL forest machines. There is a comprehensive selection of PONSSE forest machine technology in our demos – including interesting innovations. Eight-wheel harvesters and forwarders in all size categories make the harvesting productive even in challenging harvesting conditions. Without damaging nature. Come and enjoy the Ponsse Spirit with us!

Ponsse provides “Cut to Length” loggers with the best tools for all tree species and harvesting environments.  I was impressed with the manufacturing facilities in Vieremä. It would be nice to see the latest news: have to report their latest news through a link to their web-page.

The factory in Vieremä is designed to serve customers not only in machine acquisitions but also throughout the lifespan of their products. Ponsse’s professional experts do their utmost to keep your machine in first-class condition and, as it should be, efficient.
