The first day and hour at Ligna 2015, Hannover Messe, Germany,  immediately proved that the mechanical wood working industry is changing towards more automation, robotization, increased integration and production networking, plus digitalization of everything. The goal is to:

2. improve quality of work and products
3. decrease the price of goods and services
4. enhance customer services
5. mass customization of personalized products 

The technological advancements are also moving industrial production and manufacturing of wooden products back to Europe. The continent needs better competitiveness and flexibility to ensure mass customization of personalized products to the end-users.
